Okay. I blogged about this before. I saw a commercial a little while ago for MyRomanceStory.com where you can read romance in some sort of weird comic book form (think Apartment 3G). Well, I just saw the commercial again and I just had to check out the website.
Can I just say that it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. When you click on one of the free stories, a window opens up where you click from one "slide" to the next, reading the story. The worst part about it is that there was "music"! Now I thought when I clicked on 'Sound On' that I would get some kind of background noises...like waves crashing (the story was set on a cruise ship). No, it was a slightly horrible rendition by some woman of some random song (apparently an original piece from some random "production company"). And it only starts playing when you get to a certain point in the story, conveniently and appropriately at the part where the main character's ex-fiance is revealed for hiding drugs in her purse, at which time the other guy comes in and kicks him out of the room. It plays over and over until you get past the part where they have sex.
I can't believe they actually spent money on advertising for this site. And I would die to know how many people visit it out of genuine interest (instead of wondering what the hell it is like me) and actually like it.
