Alright. I think things are finally getting back to normal. I still have tons of work at work, but I don't have to kill myself to get it done. I now have time to e-mail friends and family, surf the web for random things, play on Neopets, read blogs, and blog myself.
Also, I have decided to try and be a participant for National Novel Writing Month, which is November. I heard of it from Phillip, who I hope will try again this year. I figured instead of whining all the time about how I want to write something, I should just try. The problem is that I have almost no idea on what to write. I like to read horror fiction, but I think I would stink at writing it. Just regular fiction is okay...everyday drama...but I wouldn't know where to start. The available Novel Genres are Literary Fiction, Mystery, Romance, Erotic, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Spiritual and New Age, Young Adult, Chick Lit. and Women's Fiction, and Historical. And there is an Other category.
To be honest, the first thing that jumped out at me was the Spiritual and New Age genre. But where would I start. I am definitely interested in spirituality and new age things. But could I write something fictional about it? I've always wanted to write children's stories, but the first and last time I tried that, it ended up being an Alice in Wonderland knockoff. This is hard. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained. So, I have to do it, even if I only write 10 words in the whole month of November. I am also a little wary of dialogue. I don't think I'm good at putting dialogue together. But, I guess it doesn't have to be perfect. And I am allowed to outline it first. And I have until November 1st.
