Brain damage pending

Oh my goodness. I'm going to die for the next 6 weeks. My new class is horrible. I don't know how I'm going to survive. I'm not brain damaged from my electrocution incident, but I may as well be and my brain could certainly suffer some damage by the time this course is over. I think this class might actually trump The Art of Drama as being the worst class ever. But mostly for a different reason. The topics of the course are extremely interesting, relevant, and insightful. Basically, I have to work my ass off to get what I want out of it. I almost wish I didn't care about the topics so I didn't have to work my ass off. It is the capstone seminar that is supposed to tie everything together and be about something relevant in today's world. The topics change over time and the one I got is basically on disabilities. The four different sections of the class are:
- Social Construction of Disability and the History of Disability
- Cultural Competency and Western Medicine
- Deaf Culture and Disability
- Stigma and Cultural Competency

Awesome topics! But the amount of work is INSANE! The first four weeks involve a bunch of reading and writing 200-word answers to 3 to 4 discussion questions. There is also a 1,200 word research brief tacked on to each of those weeks. I also have to read a whole 300-page book on the culture clash involving a sick child from Laos for week 2! The fifth week involves drafting a 6 to 11 page paper as well as reading and commenting on four others. The sixth week, the final paper is due.

I don't know what I'm going to do...and I don't have a lot of time to figure it out.
