Cruel Intentions

Oh my gosh. I am floored. I can't imagine why, but I am surprised by what I've learned in this article. Luckily some states are trying to pass legislation to stop it...but it's difficult with free speech being thrown in the mix. It's a difficult thing to get around sometimes. It'll probably become a matter of privacy vs. free speech and rights to protest.

The absolute gall...the audacity and cruel mind involved with picketing at people's funerals is astounding to me. Who the hell holds a sign that says "Thank God for Dead Miners" and "Miners in Hell" at the memorial for the 12 miners who died in the Sago Mine disaster?? Or at a soldier's funeral who died in Iraq?? And do you know what they are protesting?? Not the war...they are protesting homosexuality! America harbors homosexuals and adulterers. Are you absolutely kidding me? If I were at that memorial, I might have to literally get into a fight with one them. And if it were a funeral for my very own dead husband, you better believe I would have words with them, at the very least. I don't even know what I would do. And bringing their children to also hold signs?? Talk about corruption. What idiots. I don't even care if they are right and God is punishing people! You just don't do shit like that. Mind your own damn business...worry about where you are going after you die...take your supposedly righteous self and move to another country if you're worried about America.

They won't be able to move to Canada. It is illegal to disrupt a religious service!

(A funny story: this same church did send a group of protesters to Canada back when the Supreme Court was dealing with spousal benefits for gay couples. They tried to burn a Canadian flag on the lawn of the Supreme Court. They couldn't get it lighted, so a Mountie had to come over and give them a hand lighting the flag. :-)
