Current Events

So, it's been a little while since my last post. Much has happened...Christmas has come and gone. New Year's has come and gone. Welcome 2007. Saddam Hussein was killed. Lotsa soldiers were killed. President Bush seems to have taken responsibility (verbally, at least) for the failures in the war in Iraq, though he seems dead set on circumventing the age-old checks and balances system. The list goes on, but I can't think of anything else right now.

Pregnancy is moving along nicely. Nothing much to worry about. My glucose screening test was high so I have to do a 3-hour tolerance test next week where I have to get my blood drawn 3 times in 3 hours. I'm not looking forward to that. Hopefully I don't have gestational diabetes or that will suck having to super duper watch what I eat and prick my finger throughout the day and all that. In the meanwhile, I am basically attacked from the inside throughout the day. Luckily the kicks that make me jump and yelp have only occurred at home. Not painful, just startling sometimes :) I'll have a trove of stretch marks to remember everything by later. We'll be taking some classes soon on birth and infant care. I'm looking forward those.

My last comment is on a movie we watched last night: Lady in the Water. We missed it in the theatre. It was definitely good. I loved it...very clever and unique. Honestly, if I hear one more film critic completely smash M. Night Shyamalan's movies, I'm going to go crazy. Grow and imagination or shut up. It's fictional and fun. It doesn't have to follow so-called rules and if you aren't into scifi or fantasy or anything attempting to be different, go criticize something else. Granted, I'm totally biased because I love scifi and fantasy, but geeze people really seem to pan his stuff and I don't know why.
